Kimberly June Smelley
Kimberly June Smelley, age 52, left this earth to go to her forever home in Heaven on January 22, 2020 at North Alabama Medical Center. She was a longtime resident of Florence, Alabama. She was born on July 4, 1967 at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated in 1985 from Hayden High School in Hayden, Alabama.
Kim received her CNA certificate from Northwest- Shoals Community College. Kim was a very loving, caring, and giving person. She loved taking care of people, as she volunteered in pre-schools and hospitals. Kim had many hobbies. One of her favorites was crocheting blankets, hats, and potholders and giving them as gifts. Kim also loved the outdoors and enjoyed going to her local park and down to the Tennessee River.
Kim is survived by her mother, Gina Hall (Smelley), father, John H. Smelley,Jr.(Jaqueline Smelley) and her two sisters, Debbie Getsch and Angela Banks (Scott Banks). Kim has four nephews and one niece, Corey Montgomery, Riley Getsch, Parker Banks, Brennan Getsch, and Ava Banks. As well as aunts, uncles and many cousins. Kim was a devoted Christian with a beautiful smile and a loving soul. She loved her family very much and we all loved her too. She will surely be missed by us all.
The celebration of life for Kimberly June Smelley for our family and friends in Tuscaloosa will be at Tuscaloosa Christian School Student Center, 1601 Prude Mill Road, Cottondale, AL 35453, on Saturday, January 25, 2020, from 3 to 5 p.m.
The memorial service for Kimberly June Smelley will be January 26, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gardendale Mt. Vernon Methodist Church at 805 Crest Drive, Gardendale, AL 35071.

I was one of Kim’s nurses at Shoals Hospital and had the great opportunity to laugh and talk with her on several different occasions. We painted nails & braided hair- she loved it. I am so terribly for your loss.

Kim was a special person. She had a good heart and loved giving to others. Her life here was full of emotion. I’m thankful that I got to be a part of her life !! I learned slot from knowing kim!!! May she be resting in the Lords presence
