Clyde Roland Self
Clyde Roland Self, age 81, passed away at home, in Morris, on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Born March 7, 1937 to Alfred and Velma Brasher Self, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, JT and Don Self; two sisters, Mayve and June.
After serving four years in the U.S. Army, he worked as a truck driver for various trucking companies in Birmingham and loved hunting and fishing. After retirement, he could be found most days in Warrior, selling vegetables from the back of his truck.
Survivors include his wife, Hettie Walters Keel Self; daughter, Kim Self Hughes (George); son, Terrell Self (Cheryl); daughter, Alena Self; step-daughter, Kelly Keel Foster; step-son, Tommy Keel; grand-children, Christopher Self (Emily), Candice Self Hodges (Colby), Jessica Hughes Paulino (Vinnie), Kyle Hughes, and Joshua Self (Stephanie); step-grandchildren, Dakota Senatro and Sunny Nix; nine great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Ralph Self (Hazel) and Drennan Self (Teresa), of Morris, and three sisters, Martha Tyree (Dwight) of Morris, Barbara Higgins of Adamsville, Janice Robertson (Wayne) of Clanton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
No services planned at this time. His remains were cremated. Gardendale Funeral Home made arrangements.
He will be missed by those closest to him.
